Warranties

Buying a motorhome or caravan is a huge commitment and it’s important to know that once you have driven away from our premises, you have ongoing support and back-up in case of any problems.  Before we sell any vehicle we ensure it has a comprehensive habitation and chassis service and that it is in as good a condition as possible before sale.

As a dealership, we are subject to consumer laws and the Sales of Goods Act, but sometimes despite our best efforts, vehicles can misbehave and things that were working can stop for no obvious reason.  This is why we put additional warranties on all of the second-hand vehicles we sell and it provides peace of mind for both you, as the buyer and us, as the seller.

 

New Vehicles Information

If you purchased a new vehicle from us, you will have a base chassis warranty and a habitation warranty in force. These will have been discussed with you at or prior to handover.

The base chassis (i.e., Fiat, Ford, Peugeot etc) warranty is with the vehicle manufacturer and anything that occurs with this part of your vehicle is down to yourself to discuss with the service department of the vehicle brand concerned. We are not involved in this warranty in any way and do not have facilities onsite to determine fault codes for you.

The habitation warranty for your new Motorhome does come under our remit and if you experience any issues with this part of your vehicle you should contact our aftersales team with as much information as possible in the first instance on 01667 493976 or aftersales@highlandcampervans.com

IT IS IMPERATIVE THAT IN ORDER TO MAINTAIN BOTH WARRANTY STATUSES FOR YOUR VEHICLE THAT YOU GET THEM SERVICED (for the base chassis element) and A YEARLY HABITATION SERVICE (for the habitation area) IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE BRAND REQUIREMENTS.

If you are at all unsure what these requirements are, please discuss them with your salesperson.

 

Used/Brokerage Vehicles Information

If you purchased a used vehicle from us, you will have been informed if there were any remaining warranties left on either the base chassis or habitation area. These will have been discussed with you at or prior to handover.

We are able to offer third party warranties from MB&G as a cost option if you wish and these can be purchased through your salesperson.

If there is any base chassis warranty remaining from new (i.e., Fiat, Ford, Peugeot etc) then this warranty is with the vehicle manufacturer and anything that occurs with this part of your vehicle is down to yourself to discuss with the service department of the vehicle brand concerned. MB&G warranties purchased through us are contracted in your name and you will need to obtain authorisation from MB&G for any work required prior to approaching us to complete any repairs.

General Support & Advice

If you purchased a new or used leisure vehicle from us it is likely, but not always guaranteed, that you will have received a video from our sales team to assist you to understand it’s operation and use.

We acknowledge that a lot of experience comes from the actual use of your vehicle and if it is a new vehicle to you, it may have different systems than you are used to.

In this instance if you have a minor snag or misunderstanding of how a part of your vehicle works, we are happy to offer a one-off free 30-minute support window at our sales site for you with your salesman. This will need to be booked through our aftersales team 01667 493976 or email aftersales@highlandcampervans.com

If this re-visit extends to longer than 30 minutes, then it will become a chargeable cost to you at the prevailing workshop labour rate.

IF YOU HAVE WARRANTY REMAINING ON YOUR VEHICLE BUT YOU GET REPLACEMENT PARTS OR REPAIR WORK DONE ELSEWHERE, THIS MUST BE AURTHORISED BY THE AFTERSALES TEAM. IF NOT THIS COULD INVALIDATE YOUR WARRANTY AND ANY COSTS INCURRED WOULD BE YOUR OWN.
